I've strayed a little in my intentions for my blog... not quite as inspiring of joy as I first envisioned, so when I saw a twitter post today with a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson that I loved, I started looking at a quote site and here are a couple for today that really inspired me.
1. “To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson
Or as the country music duo Big and Rich put it- " It's hard to get around in a six foot town when you're ten feet tall!"
Struggling to do this every day as I'm looking for a new position and interviewing. But if they don't hire the real me, how happy can I be there? So- I just gotta be me!
2. “Finish every day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson
Yes- let's all let go of the nonsense, shall we?!! Love it!
3. “It is one of the blessings of old friends that you can afford to be stupid with them.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson
I love my old friends! You know who you are! (although I am willing to be stupid with new friends too-it's not quite the same level of stupid)!
4. “A child is a curly, dimpled lunatic.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson
Yup, Ralphie says it best!
How could I possibly have forgotten this one??!!! see #3 above- all I can say!
“Scatter joy!”
